Zelensky's Plane Narrowly Avoids Russian Drone in Moldova

Chisinau. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's plane narrowly avoided being targeted by a Russian drone while flying from Moldova to Norway's capital, Oslo, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said. Støre told Norwegian state broadcaster NRK on Wednesday that Zelensky's plane almost collided with a drone while taking off from Moldova. He did not disclose how close the drone was to the plane or where he obtained the information.

Later, a spokesperson for the Moldovan government confirmed the incident, stating that the event occurred before the plane took off on Tuesday and that a Russian drone was involved. The airspace was closed for security after drone entry into Moldova's airspace was detected. Due to this, the takeoff of Zelensky's plane was also delayed for some time. The plane was allowed to take off only after it was confirmed that the drone had fallen into Moldovan territory.
