Kathmandu. Industry, Commerce and Supplies Minister Gauri Kumari Yadav, who courted controversy by stating that gas shortages and black marketeering were due to entrepreneurs and businessmen, resigned herself. Minister Yadav resigned before Prime Minister Balendra Shah on Thursday amidst a severe gas shortage in the market.
On Wednesday, in the Industry Committee of Parliament, Minister Yadav had stated that the main reason for the gas shortage was the misconduct of entrepreneurs and businessmen. She was embroiled in widespread controversy due to her statement that the problem would be solved only after industrialists were reined in and that the licenses of 58 industries currently in operation would be revoked. Minister Yadav was appointed Industry Minister on Chaitra 27.
