Landslides and Floods Disrupt Major Highways in Bagmati and Karnali Provinces

Kathmandu. Major highways in Bagmati and Karnali provinces have been obstructed due to floods and landslides in various parts of the country. As of the updated data at 15:30 on Thursday, many road sections are completely blocked due to potential floods and landslides, while in some places, vehicles are operating only on one side.

In the Khurkot-Nepal Thok-Katuñjebesi section of the BP Highway in Kavre, under Bagmati Province, vehicles are allowed to operate within a specific time limit until further notice. From August 16, from 19:00 to 05:00, cargo vehicles up to 10 tons are allowed to operate. Similarly, from 04:00 to 18:00, arrangements have been made to resume other vehicles considering the situation.
