Loss and Damage Fund responds to Nepal’s request for support

Kathmandu, Sept 10: The Fund for responding to Loss and Damage established under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has responded to a letter sent by Nepal seeking urgent support following the devastating Bhotekoshi floods of August 26, 2026.

The response was addressed to Minister for Finance Dr Swarnim Wagle and Minister for Agriculture, Forests and Environment Gita Chaudhary. Nepal had sent the letter on August 31, seeking an immediate response to the destruction caused by the floods.
