BP Koirala Health Sciences Institute Addresses Snakebite Death of 8-Year-Old Girl

Kathmandu. BP Koirala Health Sciences Institute, Dharan has stated that it has taken serious note of the death of 8-year-old girl Ashwana Chauhan of Itahari-1 due to snakebite.

According to the institute, the girl, who was brought in a semi-conscious state after being bitten by a snake on her left hand on August 24, was immediately started on emergency treatment in the child emergency ward. The institute clarified that the medical team, with the permission of the guardians, performed 'intubation' to facilitate breathing, administered anti-snake venom and normal saline, and when her heart rate decreased during treatment, CPR was given to bring the heart rate back to normal.
