Kathmandu: Bidur Municipality Mayor Rajan Shrestha has called for relief and concessions on bank loans for people affected by the devastating floods, saying that while homes, land and businesses were washed away, their debts remained.
Shrestha described the disaster as an unprecedented event in Nepal, saying its human and physical impact had extended far beyond one or two districts. Citizens across all 77 districts have been affected in one way or another, while foreign nationals have also been among those impacted.
