Finance Minister Wagle States Employees Provident Fund's Purpose is Investment, Not Just Accumulation

Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has stated that the primary objective of the Employees' Provident Fund is not just to accumulate funds. Responding to the views of MPs during the theoretical discussion on the bill to amend the Employees' Provident Fund Act 2019 in the House of Representatives on Friday, he said so.

Finance Minister Wagle claimed that the Employees' Provident Fund was established for the purpose of collecting and investing funds. He said, 'The hangar is the safe place for an airplane. The plane is made for flying. If we hoard and consume, we deviate from the main objective. Therefore, the objective of the fund is not just to collect money in the fund.'
