Supreme Court Petition Filed Against 'Green Army Nepal' for Military-Like Uniforms and Ranks

Kathmandu. A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court regarding the activities of 'Green Army Nepal', which was involved in rescue and relief operations during the devastating flood and disaster in the Bhote Koshi region of Rasuwa, using uniforms, ranks, and insignia resembling those of the Nepali Army.

Lawyers Samburaj Aryal, Purnabahadur Saud, Govindaram Pariyar, and Bishnuvar Singh Thapa have filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court, claiming that a non-governmental organization using military-like structures, uniforms, ranks, and insignia is against the Constitution of Nepal and existing laws.
