Government urged to immediately restore e-GP system

Kathmandu, Sept 11: Chief Whip of the Nepali Communist Party, Yuvraj Dulal, has urged the government to immediately restore the electronic government procurement (e-GP) system, saying its shutdown has disrupted public procurement and contracting processes across the country.

Speaking in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday after seeking time from the Speaker, Chief Whip Dulal said the e-GP system, which has been in operation since 2013 to make public procurement easier and more transparent, had been shut down, affecting procurement processes at the federal, provincial and local levels.
