Ncell Foundation Pledges NPR 1 Crore for Flood Relief Efforts

Kathmandu. Ncell Foundation has announced a contribution of NPR 1 crore to support the rescue, relief, and rehabilitation of citizens affected by the severe flood in the Bhote Koshi River. Ncell stated that the amount will be provided to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund. The company announced its support in response to the government's call following significant loss of life and property in the riverine areas of districts including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and Gorkha due to the flood in the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa on Wednesday. Ncell has expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the flood and sympathy to the bereaved families. It has also wished for the swift rescue and relief management of the missing and affected citizens. Ncell is also providing assistance to its customers in the flood-affected areas through its communication services. According to the company, customers in the affected areas have been provided with 3 days of free voice and data services and 100 SMS, effective from Wednesday. Ncell expects this to facilitate communication for the affected citizens with their families, relatives, and the rescue and relief teams. Ncell's Corporate Communications, Marketing, and Sustainability Director, Vishakha Laxmi Khadka, stated that it is everyone's shared responsibility to stand with the affected citizens during this difficult time of disaster. 'We have decided to contribute NPR 1 crore to support the government and relevant bodies in their rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts,' she said, 'We want to inform that we stand with the affected families and communities in this adverse situation.' Ncell has stated that it has been providing assistance in rescue, relief, and rehabilitation activities during various natural disasters in the past. The company has also stated that it will continue its support and cooperation in the future, keeping in mind the needs and conditions of the affected communities.
