Nepali Congress MP Narayan Dutt Mishra Accuses Federal Government of Disempowering Provincial Governments

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress MP Narayan Dutt Mishra has accused the federal government of keeping all powers to itself and rendering provincial governments powerless. Speaking at a meeting of the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee under the National Assembly held in Singh Durbar, MP Mishra made such an accusation.

He mentioned that the federal government is interfering in the work being done by the provinces and local levels according to the rights they have received. He expressed the view that instead of debating the need for federalism, focus should be on creating an environment for provinces and local levels to work effectively with the rights granted by the constitution.
