Congress Spokesperson Chalise Criticizes Rastriya Swatantra Party's Approach

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress spokesperson Devraj Chalise has commented that the country cannot be run from the platform of dissatisfaction, targeting the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). Criticizing the rise of RSP and its adopted style of functioning, he said that the 'real test' of RSP has now begun. Speaking to Ratopati, spokesperson Chalise mentioned that RSP emerged by using the weaknesses of other parties and governments as a mirror, and now the public is turning the same question towards RSP. He said, 'Yesterday, questioning others was RSP's political capital, but today they themselves are in a position to answer. Today's success cannot be proven by condemning yesterday's failures.' Expressing dissatisfaction with RSP's style of functioning, spokesperson Chalise said that 'dissatisfaction' can be fuel to gain power, but running a government requires thought, organization, discipline, and political culture. He said, 'Viewers can be increased through TikTok and Facebook posts, but an organization cannot be run. Politics of protest is easy, but politics of responsibility is very difficult.' Spokesperson Chalise, satirizing the 'Chautari' (a public resting place, often implying informal gatherings), said that while there may be many people sitting in the 'Chautari', running a household is difficult. 'There are many who sit in the Chautari, but to run the country, a house with a strong foundation is needed, not a Chautari. Dissatisfaction alone does not build a foundation.' He said that only eyes are needed to see others' mistakes, but a mirror is needed to see one's own mistakes. Spokesperson Chalise said that the public has started demanding an account of how the issues raised when not in government are being addressed now that they are in government. He said, 'A new regime is not good by counting the weaknesses of the old government.' Congress spokesperson Chalise wished RSP to be established as a political party, but emphasized that the foundation of thought and organization must be strong to become a party. 'A party is not made by good wishes; the test ahead is whether RSP limits itself to the Chautari of dissatisfaction or advances as a mature political party; the decision is in their hands, said Chalise.
