Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress has drawn the attention of the government to the investigation report published by the National Human Rights Commission regarding the protests held on Bhadra 23 and 24, and has demanded strict action against the culprits. The Congress has pressured the government to implement the commission's recommendations within the constitutional framework, deeming both the violence during the protests and the excessive use of force by the state as contrary to democratic values and norms.
Party spokesperson Devraj Chalise said in a press release that the Human Rights Commission's report has confirmed that the investigation commission led by Gauribahadur Karki, formed by the previous government, was incomplete, deficient, and unclear. The Congress concludes that the Karki commission was not impartial, as the Human Rights Commission itself pointed to Chairman Karki and suggested further investigation into him.
