Kathmandu. The ruling party Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is going to prepare a document related to the 'Right to Recall'. A task force was formed under the convenership of General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya to prepare a document related to 'Right to Recall' at a central committee meeting held on Bhadra 5. The task force was finalized on Friday. The 11-member task force includes Ganesh Parajuli, Manish Jha, Samiksha Baskota, Anushka Shrestha, Sulabh Kharel, Manish Khanal, Sushant Vaidya, Gajala Shamim Mikrani, Karishma Katheria, and Pramod Neupane. Coordinator Acharya informed that the task force will hold a meeting soon to determine its scope of work.
Acharya has made an effort to clarify the implementation regarding the 'Right to Recall' provision as it is not included in the Constitution of Nepal, Election Act, or laws. 'The party has had a provision for the Right to Recall since its inception in its manifesto. The party has implemented this provision in its statute. We will create an appropriate method and procedure for when elected representatives can be recalled,' he told Ratopati. 'We have reached the conclusion that this should not be a wrong tool and its misuse in the exercise of power should be avoided. The party has given me the responsibility for this. We will determine the working procedure by holding a task force meeting soon.'
