Tej Songs Losing Originality Amidst Commercialization

Kathmandu. Every year, a flood of new songs is released on the occasion of Teej. Although fewer Teej songs have been released this year due to the entire country being in mourning because of the Bhote Koshi flood, in the past, around 300 songs were released annually as Teej songs.

Despite so many songs being added every year, women tend to choose old songs to hum and dance to on the occasion of Teej. Out of the dozens of songs released in the market every year, only a handful gain popularity. Some songs go unnoticed by the audience.
