Trump Dismisses Reports of Chinese Satellite Images Aiding Iran

Washington DC. US President Donald Trump has dismissed reports that Chinese entities provided satellite images to Iran before and after the Iranian missile attack that killed three US soldiers. Speaking to reporters on Air Force One on Sunday, the day after The Wall Street Journal reported that a Chinese entity had provided images of the military base to Tehran, President Trump said that the US and China spy on each other. "If they spy on us, we spy on them," he said.

Three US soldiers were killed in an Iranian missile attack on the Muafaq Salty Air Base in Jordan on July 17. Unnamed US officials cited by the Journal did not name the Chinese entity that provided the satellite images and did not accuse the Chinese government of direct involvement. The Journal reported that Chinese officials demanded proof of satellite image transfer and that Chinese companies denied involvement in providing images to Tehran.
