Power Restored to Nuwakot Areas After BhoteKoshi Flood

Kathmandu. Nepal Electricity Authority has restored electricity service to various areas of Nuwakot affected by the flood in the BhoteKoshi River through an alternative transmission system.

Electricity supply has been arranged through an alternative line from Sindhupalchok to affected areas such as KharaniTar, Samundratar, Chaugada, Likhu, Panchakanya, and Bidur due to the flood, the Authority stated. According to Authority spokesperson Rajan Dhakal, work is underway to charge Chapali substation to Chapali-Devighat 66 KV line and 11 KV, and Balaju-Trishuli 66 KV to 11 KV line. Preparations are being made to bring these lines into operation soon after completing the necessary technical work, with efforts to restore electricity service by evening.
