CPN Opens Door for Power Sharing with Congress in Karnali

Surkhet. The main opposition party, the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), has opened the door for power sharing. After the Congress left the government, a meeting of the CPN parliamentary party held on Wednesday afternoon decided to open the door if the Congress is ready to cooperate. The four ministers from the Congress who participated in the government resigned on Wednesday morning. However, Congress has not yet withdrawn its support. CPN Parliamentary Party Chief Whip Krishna Bahadur GC said that the responsibility for discussing and coordinating the remaining power sharing has been given to the party leader Mangal Bahadur Shahi. Party leader Shahi also said that the door for power sharing has been opened. However, he said it could be with UML or Congress. 'They are currently a coalition partner, and even though Congress has left the government, they have not withdrawn their support,' Shahi told Ratopati. However, a CPN MP said that the CPN's bottom line is that power sharing should be with Congress, as the government led by UML Parliamentary Party leader Yamlal Kandel has already 'failed'. 'The CPN had previously told the Congress that if you are ready for cooperation, then dare to do so,' the MP said. 'Congress has dared now. But support remains. Something will come by tomorrow!' Earlier, Congress Parliamentary Party leader Jeevan Bahadur Shahi had also said that the ruling coalition could change. Similarly, with the central Congress party deciding to break ties with the UML, the possibility of a power equation between CPN and Congress in the province has increased.
