Prime Minister Balen Shah States Nation Cannot Immediately Enter Electric Era

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balendra (Balen) Shah has stated that the country cannot immediately enter the electric era. Responding to a question raised by MP Khusbu Oli in Sunday's House of Representatives meeting, the Prime Minister said that if everyone uses electricity to run their stoves immediately, the load will not be bearable and transformers will explode. “We cannot go into the electric era immediately. Transformers will explode,” said Prime Minister Shah, adding, “The issue of imposing 5 percent VAT on electricity is not a big one.” He stated that the government is thinking about a situation where everyone can use electric stoves after upgrading the physical infrastructure of electricity. Similarly, the Prime Minister informed that concerned ministries and departments have been instructed to control the misuse of visit visas.
