Government Increases Civil Servant Salaries by Up to 21 Percent

Kathmandu. The government has significantly increased the salary scale to boost the morale of civil servants and address the pressure of inflation. This increase has been implemented starting today, with the beginning of the new financial year 2083/084.

Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle had informed during the budget speech on Jestha 15 that the starting salary scale of employees has been increased by 10 percent. Considering the situation where employees' salaries have not been increased for the last four years, this new system has been implemented while continuing the currently applicable dearness allowance.
