Intermediaries Defraud State Treasury Through E-Passport Procurement Variations

Kathmandu. It has been found that a group of middlemen has plundered the state treasury in the name of variation in the contract for the purchase and printing of electronic passports (e-passports).

This group, which is facing allegations of tax evasion and capital flight by taking a large amount of commission to Singapore after establishing an offshore company there, has now used the 'variation order' as a weapon to increase costs abnormally and burden the state with an additional billions of rupees, facts have been revealed.
