Kathmandu. Youth have taken to the streets with the main demand for a direct executive presidential system in Nepal. A group of youth demonstrated at Maitighar in Kathmandu on Saturday, demanding the establishment of a direct executive presidential system within the next year 2087 BS for the foundation of a prosperous Nepal. They have demanded the abolition of provinces and strengthening of local levels, formation of a 10-member cabinet, and keeping education and health entirely under state ownership. They have also demanded the complete nationalization of all banks in Nepal and the enactment of strict legal provisions for severe punishment for criminals, considering the crimes occurring in society and the investigation processes. Youth activist Arjun Bishwakarma, who participated in the street protest, stated that their demand also includes bringing a scientific land reform act to permanently eliminate the problems of squatters, landless farmers, and landless citizens of the country. Furthermore, they have emphasized the need to rewrite the current educational curricula and create practical curricula based on skills and technology.
