Niharika Rajput and Binu Yadav Protest at Singha Durbar

Kathmandu. Niharika Rajput and Binu Yadav staged a sit-in protest in front of the south gate of Singha Durbar on Saturday. They symbolically protested by ringing the election symbol of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), 'Ghongti', alleging obstruction when trying to inform Home Minister Sudhan Gurung about their problems.

Speaking to journalists during the protest, Niharika Rajput accused Ravi Lamichhane and Balen Shah, who supported her cause when she was a journalist and a mayor, of remaining silent after reaching power and authority. The victims complained that even though they had passes to enter Singha Durbar, the police did not allow them inside, and they were kept outside for about four hours. They claimed that their clothes were torn and they sustained physical injuries during the friction with the police during the sit-in.
