Argentina Defeats Jordan 3-1 in FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers

Kathmandu. The final matches of Group 'J' under the FIFA World Cup 2026 have been completed. Defending champions Argentina defeated Jordan 3-1 to enter the knockout stage as group winners with a 100% win record.

In the match held at Dallas Stadium, Giovanni Lo Celso scored the opening goal for Argentina in the 19th minute through a free-kick. Lautaro Martinez added the second goal from a penalty in the 31st minute. In the second half, Musa Al-Tamari scored a goal for Jordan, but captain Lionel Messi, who came on from the bench, secured Argentina's 3-1 victory by scoring in the 80th minute. This was also Messi's 19th World Cup career goal.
