Surkhet. The possibility of a provincial power equation being formed between the CPN (UML) and the Maoist Center at the center has increased. The Maoist Center's chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' appears to be particularly discussing moving forward in collaboration with the CPN (UML). In this situation, the Nepali Congress, which has registered a no-confidence motion against the CPN (UML) parliamentary party leader and Chief Minister Yamlal Kandel in Karnali Province, is in tension. The Congress, which has been in an alliance with the CPN (UML) since August 2081 BS, withdrew its ministers from the government on Wednesday. While maintaining its support, it suddenly registered a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Kandel on Thursday in alliance with the opposition Maoist Center. Furthermore, the leader of the Congress parliamentary party, Jivan Bahadur Shahi, has been proposed as the Chief Minister. The Congress, which is moving forward with a power equation with the Maoist Center in the province, is currently agitated by discussions of an alliance between the CPN (UML) and the Maoist Center at the center. Leaders and MPs of the Congress in the province are stating that if they are to form a power alliance with the Maoist Center in the province, they should not cooperate with the CPN (UML) under any circumstances. They are considering the possibility of being in the opposition if an alliance is formed between the Maoist Center and the CPN (UML) at the center. The chief whip of the Congress parliamentary party, Hikmat Bahadur Bisht, said that the no-confidence motion was registered after mutual consultation with the Maoist Center. 'Various kinds of groundwork are heard to be happening at the center, sometimes discussions of communist proximity, sometimes of forming a joint government of three parties,' he told Ratopati. 'But what will happen at the center? We have to see what the Maoist Center does.' According to him, during the registration of the no-confidence motion by the Congress in the province, discussions were held with Maoist Center leaders Mahendra Shahi, Chandra Bahadur Shahi, and Vimla KC. 'They have met with our leaders, and further discussions will take place after they return from Kalikot,' he said. 'We also have a parliamentary party meeting tomorrow, after which further matters will be clarified.' Regarding the increasing possibility of Prachanda and Oli uniting, he said, 'If they (CPN (UML) and Maoist Center) unite at the center, we will sit in the opposition, what else can be done?' He stated that if the Maoist Center and Congress reach an agreement and the no-confidence motion is passed, the Chief Minister will have to resign. He said that regardless of the equation at the center, the possibility of Congress and Maoist Center uniting in Karnali depends on the Maoist Center. 'We are ready, it depends on the leaders and MPs of the Maoist Center. If they say let's unite for the sake of Karnali, we are ready,' Bisht added. 'We are firm in the commitment we have made from our side, and there will be no dishonesty from our side. But if they back down, we can do nothing.' However, he said that the Congress will not cooperate with the CPN (UML) in the province under any circumstances. He said that it would be possible if all three parties formed a government at the center, but there is no possibility of only Congress and CPN (UML) uniting. Meanwhile, although the Maoist Center previously supported the no-confidence motion against the CPN (UML) Chief Minister, they are currently agitated by the discussions happening at the party's center. Maoist Center parliamentary party leader Mangal Bahadur Shahi said that no decision or directive has been received from the party center so far.
