Five months after the United States launched a war against Iran following Iran's attack on a US military base in Jordan, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) still appears capable of inflicting significant damage. The attack last Friday marked the first time since March 1 that US soldiers stationed at an Iranian military base were killed in an Iranian attack. Iran targeted US military bases within hours of the US and Israel launching a war against Iran on March 1. However, the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) has not released detailed information about the attack. Analysts say this incident highlights an uncomfortable reality: despite continuous US airstrikes, Iran still possesses the military capacity for a prolonged, unlimited war. Jennifer Kavanagh, Director of Military Analysis at the think tank Defense Priorities, told Al Jazeera, 'Iran's military capability is still very strong. It has rebuilt its capacity faster than expected.' According to her, Iran's attacks have become more precise over time, possibly with intelligence support from Russia and China. 'The Iranian military is not incapable of fighting, as the Pentagon claims. It has suffered heavy losses, but it is learning from experience and adapting,' she said.
