NRN Vice President Emphasizes Collaboration Between Nepali Journalists Abroad and NRN for Nepal's Prosperity

Japan. Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Senior Vice President Robin Sherchan has stated that the journey of Nepal's prosperity is possible only through the collaboration between Nepali journalists in the diaspora and the NRN. Speaking at the 'FNJ Global Media Conference Japan 2026' organized by the Federation of Nepali Journalists Japan Chapter in Tokyo on Saturday, Sherchan emphasized that the relationship between journalism and NRN should not be limited to news exchange. He said, 'Today, the Nepali diaspora worldwide possesses immense knowledge, skills, capital, and experience. Journalism must play the role of a strong bridge connecting this power with Nepal's development and prosperity.' Senior Vice President Sherchan stated that journalists have a significant role in conveying the problems faced by Nepalis living abroad, their success stories, and possibilities to Nepal with facts and research. He also opined that diaspora media should be active in introducing Nepal's development, tourism, investment, and technological possibilities to the global market. He also proposed the creation of a 'Diaspora Media Network' to make the relationship between Nepali journalists in the diaspora and NRN more institutional and effective. He clarified that NRN is always ready to collaborate with the Federation of Nepali Journalists to convey the issues of Nepalis in the diaspora to the policy-making level through regular dialogue, research, and joint programs. In the conference, attended by central representatives of the Federation of Nepali Journalists and representatives from foreign chapters of various countries, Sherchan expressed confidence that journalism will convey Nepal's true identity to the world and connect the respect of the diaspora with the country's interests.
