American Airlines Plane Tires Burst at Chicago O'Hare International Airport

Washington D.C. Two tires of an American Airlines plane burst before takeoff. According to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), this incident occurred at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. This is the fourth incident of tire-related problems at the said airport in the last one month. After the incident that occurred on Wednesday afternoon, passengers were evacuated from the plane using stairs. The FAA stated that they were then taken to the terminal by bus. The FAA is investigating the incident.

According to American Airlines, the tire-related problem occurred some time after the plane moved from the gate at Chicago O'Hare Airport to the taxiway. A loud bang occurred as the plane accelerated. "The sound was extremely loud," said Latesha Williams, a passenger on the plane. The plane then stopped slowly. After a few minutes, the pilot informed that two tires had burst and were damaged. Passengers were evacuated from the plane in groups of 40-40 and boarded a bus.
