Surkhet Residents Face Severe LP Gas Shortage, Queue for Days

Surkhet. For the past week, a crowd of people coming to get LP gas for cooking has been observed in Surkhet. Locals arrive at the gas dealer with empty cylinders as early as 2:00 AM. They return with filled cylinders only after waiting for one or two days. Consumers have been facing hardship due to the recent gas shortage.

Locals say that it is no longer easy to get gas anytime as it used to be. While some have alternative options, most citizens here are dependent on LP gas for cooking. Although alternative fuels are available in rural areas, urban areas do not have easy access to firewood or cow dung cakes. Those who were dependent on gas have been facing problems due to its scarcity.
