Doctors' Association to Close OPD Services Nationwide Tomorrow in Protest of Violence Against Healthcare Workers

Kathmandu. Protesting incidents of abuse and assault against health workers, the Nepal Medical Association has announced the closure of OPD services in all hospitals and health institutions across the country tomorrow. The association has urged for a 'zero tolerance' policy against violence, demanding that doctors and health workers be allowed to work in a safe environment. This protest program has been called to pressure for making the health sector fearless and safe with the message "Respect Heals, Violence Hurts," informed Dr. Rakesh Shah, Executive Member of the association, to Ratopati. Doctors and health workers are agitated in protest of the attack on a doctor at Narayani Hospital. Meanwhile, a meeting has been called at the association's office tomorrow at 2 PM regarding the incident of suspension of health workers.
