Curfew lifted in Sunsari’s Dewanganj as tensions ease

Authorities lift the curfew but retain limits on gatherings in Dewanganj and Harinagar after Sunday’s communal clash left one dead and nine injured in security force firing.

The curfew imposed in the Dewanganj area of Sunsari was lifted from 7am on Tuesday. However, restrictions remain in place across Dewanganj Rural Municipality and Harinagar Rural Municipality, prohibiting gatherings of more than five people at a single location between 7am and 7pm.
