Police Seize 454kg Ganja Hidden in Mini-Truck's False Bottom in Mahottari

Kathmandu. Police have taken one person under control with 454 kilograms of ganja being illegally transported by making a 'false bottom' (fake floor) on the roof of a mini-truck in Mahottari. A police team deployed from the Narcotics Control Bureau Branch Office Bardibas arrested the truck driver with the ganja from Bardibas Municipality-3. The arrested person is 26-year-old Bishwo Tamang, a resident of Godawari Municipality-3, Lalitpur. According to the police, when the mini-truck with registration number Ba 4 Kha 5692 coming from Bhiman, Sindhuli towards Mahottari on Tuesday was stopped on suspicion and inspected, 454 kg of ganja was recovered, which was hidden in 60 sacks made in a special type of false bottom on the roof of the truck. Police have also recovered 1 mini-truck with registration number Ba 4 Kha 5692, 1 driving license, 1 vehicle registration book, and 1 mobile from Tamang along with the ganja. Narcotics Control Bureau's Deputy Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jeevan Niroula informed that Tamang, who was arrested, and the seized goods have been handed over to the Area Police Office Bardibas, Mahottari for further investigation and necessary action.
