Kathmandu. The Nepal Medical Association has again suspended all services except emergencies in hospitals across the country today. The association decided to halt all health services nationwide, citing the government's indifference in taking legal action against the perpetrators of the heinous attack on doctors and health workers at Narayani Hospital in Birgunj and the vandalism at the hospital. An emergency meeting of the association's central office on Tuesday had decided to suspend all services except emergencies in hospitals, medical colleges, and health institutions across the country on Wednesday. The association has deemed it extremely shameful that instead of arresting and taking action against the culprits even after four days since the incident, the Chief District Officer and the Chief of Police in Parsa allegedly misbehaved with the doctors who went to seek justice. As per the protest programs, doctors and health workers within the Kathmandu Valley will gather at Maitighar Mandala at 10 AM today and participate in a demonstration. Similarly, doctors outside the valley will submit a memorandum to their respective District Administration Offices and protest by staging a sit-in at their workplace health institutions.
