MP Narbahadur Bisht Suggests Cost-Effective Elections and Increased Women's Participation

Kathmandu. Nepali Communist Party (NCP) MP Narbahadur Bisht has suggested that the Election Commission create an environment where candidates from all parties present their plans one by one from the same platform to make elections less expensive. MP Bisht made this proposal while speaking in a discussion on the work plan of proposed Chief Election Commissioner Manbahadur Karki in the parliamentary hearing committee.

Suggesting ways to reduce the wasteful expenditure and fanfare of candidates in elections, MP Bisht said, "What is your plan to reduce the expenditure incurred by candidates in elections? Can an environment be created where candidates from all parties can hold a public meeting in one place, on one day, and present their plans and commitments to the public?"
