Afghanistan Floods Cause 351 Deaths, 436 Injuries in Four Months

Kathmandu. In Afghanistan, 351 people have died and 436 have been injured due to disasters caused by rain in a period of four months, the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has informed. According to the authority's deputy spokesperson Taj Mohammad Hemat, heavy rains accompanied by strong storms and lightning have caused floods and landslides, resulting in loss of life and widespread destruction in the affected areas.

The destructive seasonal disaster has damaged two thousand 321 residential houses and partially damaged an additional eight thousand 36 buildings. It is mentioned that 644 kilometers of rural roads were washed away by the floods and arable land was submerged. Officials have confirmed that a total of 24,035 households nationwide have been affected by the floods.
