Ravi Lamichhane Becomes Active Amidst Criticism of Government's Role in Devanaganj Incident

Kathmandu. Amidst widespread criticism of the government's role regarding the incident in Kaptanganj in Ward No. 3 of Devangaj Rural Municipality in Sunsari, the chairman of the ruling party Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Ravi Lamichhane, has become active. The movement had taken a violent turn after the dispute between two communities in Kaptanganj caused significant damage to public property. On Tuesday evening, after stone pelting between Hindu and Muslim communities, the police mobilized additional help from nearby districts to the Kaptanganj area.

There are allegations that the Balendra Shah-led government has not played a coordinating role even as social harmony in various parts of the country, including Sunsari, has been disrupted and the situation is on the verge of going out of control. As criticism of the government intensified, the Prime Minister urged everyone to remove all anger and resentment and love each other through a Facebook post in the middle of the night.
