Supreme Court Orders Government to Facilitate Kidney Transplant for Bhutanese Refugee Woman

Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has issued an order in the name of the government to remove legal and administrative obstacles in the treatment and kidney transplantation of a seriously ill Bhutanese refugee woman suffering from kidney failure.

Hearing the writ of Bhutanese refugee Kharka Bahadur Gajmer, a joint bench of Justices Kumar Regmi and Shanti Singh Thapa has ordered to complete the necessary procedures within seven days to protect the victim's 'fundamental right to life'.
