Iran Rejects Oman's Strait of Hormuz Proposal, Offers New Plan

Tehran. Iran has rejected Oman's proposal for joint monitoring of the important Strait of Hormuz. While both sides are discussing the final agreement, Iran has put forward its own new proposal.

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said on state television on Tuesday that Oman's proposal does not adequately address Tehran's concerns about waterway control. He added that Iran's new proposal would give Tehran more control over this waterway.
