Lumbini Province Government Restructures Ministries to Streamline Administration

Butwal. The Lumbini Province government has restructured ministries with the objective of making the administrative structure efficient. The Council of Ministers meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya approved the Provincial Government (Work Division) Regulations, 2083, keeping 8 ministries in addition to the Chief Minister and the Office of the Council of Ministers. The provincial government structure, which was previously operated through 12 ministries, has been reorganized, and the Provincial Government Work Division Regulations, 2083 have been approved, keeping 8 ministries in addition to the Chief Minister and the Office of the Council of Ministers. Informing about the decisions of the meeting, Minister of Physical Infrastructure Development Ratna Bahadur Khatri said that the number of ministries has been reduced to make the work performance more effective, organized, and economical. Now, Lumbini will have the Chief Minister's Office and eight ministries. According to the new structure, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has been merged into the Ministry of Social Development. The Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Transport has been abolished, and the responsibility of Industry and Transport has been adjusted into the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law. Similarly, the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has been merged into the Ministry of Urban Development. Tourism sector has been added to the Ministry of Forests and Environment, making it the Ministry of Forests, Environment and Tourism. According to the new regulations, the Chief Minister and the Office of the Council of Ministers, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, Ministry of Industry and Transport, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, Ministry of Forests, Environment and Tourism, Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Energy, Irrigation and Water Supply, Ministry of Social Development, and Ministry of Health will now exist. Similarly, the Council of Ministers meeting also decided to permanently appoint and place two senior officers of the Provincial Agriculture Service. Based on the recommendation of the Provincial Public Service Commission, Minister Khatri informed that Ram Prasad Pandey has been appointed and placed as the Director General of the Agricultural Development Directorate, Rupandehi, and Bhaskar Poudel has been appointed and placed as the Director General of the Animal and Fisheries Development Directorate, Rupandehi.
