Government Mobilizes NPR 35 Billion for Disaster Relief Amidst International Aid

Kathmandu. The government has accumulated funds amounting to NPR 35 billion that can be spent in disaster-affected areas. The Ministry of Finance has stated that the government can mobilize NPR 35 billion, including funds from the Prime Minister's Natural Disaster Relief Fund and the Prime Minister's Relief Fund, along with USD 25 billion provided by the World Bank.

The process of collecting relief funds in the Prime Minister's Natural Disaster Relief Fund and the Prime Minister's Relief Fund has begun. According to sources from the Ministry of Finance, contributions have been received in small amounts so far, with commitments for larger sums coming in.
