Microfinance Victims Spend Night Under Open Sky in Maitighar

Kathmandu. The clock was indicating midnight. Most of the streets in the capital were becoming deserted. But the victims in Maitighar Mandala had not yet fallen asleep. Their night is not being spent in the warm bed at home, but on the cold ground under the open sky.

Victims of microfinance, who have come to Kathmandu from various districts of the country in search of justice, have made Maitighar their temporary residence as they could not find any safe place to stay. To avoid the continuous rain, some have covered themselves with plastic, while others are spending the night under it, using their clothes as tarpaulin.
