Government Reaches Agreement with Families of Deceased in Sunsari Incident

Kathmandu. Home Minister Sudhan Gurung said that the government is fully committed to truth, justice, rule of law and the trust of the citizens after the Nepal government reached an agreement with the families of Om Prakash Mehta and Jai Prakash Mehta, who lost their lives in an incident in Devangunj Rural Municipality-3, Captaingunj, Sunsari.

As per the agreement, the process of declaring the deceased as martyrs will be expedited, Rs 10 lakh relief will be provided to each family, an impartial investigation will be conducted and the guilty will be punished according to the law, employment opportunities will be provided to eligible members of the victim families, and necessary coordination will be done for the construction of a memorial park in memory of the deceased. The agreement was reached with the victim families in the presence of Gurung late last night.
