Election Commission Declares 6 Local Representatives' Posts Vacant

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has announced the posts of 6 local level representatives elected from CPN UML vacant. The commission stated that their posts have been automatically vacated as they were found to have abandoned the party in accordance with the law relating to political parties.

The commission, publishing a notice today, informed that this decision was made after the CPN UML Central Secretariat informed that the representatives elected from UML in the local level elections of 2079 BS had abandoned the party by acting contrary to the party's statute.
