Former NTA Chairman Bhupendra Bhandari Arrested in Smart Telecom Asset Auction Case

Kathmandu. Former Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) Chairman Bhupendra Bhandari has been arrested in connection with an investigation into the illegal auction and embezzlement of Smart Telecom’s assets and infrastructure, which were supposed to come under government ownership following the cancellation of the company’s operating license.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police took Bhandari into custody on Thursday night for further investigation, according to sources familiar with the case.
