Province Assembly Member Prakash Bahadur Deuba Continues to Receive Salary While Abroad for 11 Months

Dhangadhi. Far-Western Province Assembly member and former Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development of the province, Prakash Bahadur Deuba, has been in America for the past 11 months. He has not attended any meetings of the Provincial Assembly for such a long time. Despite being away from parliamentary activities, the services and salary he receives as a Provincial Assembly member are regularly deposited into his bank account.

According to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, no legal action has been initiated against Deuba so far, so there is no basis to stop his services and facilities. Yuvraj Jesi, information officer of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, stated that the secretariat cannot stop the salary or other facilities of any MP unless the Provincial Assembly makes a different decision regarding them.
