World Breastfeeding Week Begins Amidst Declining Rates

World Breastfeeding Week has begun today. Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year in the first week of August with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the health ministries of various countries, and civil society organizations.

This year, the week is being celebrated with the theme 'Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start to Life: Strengthening Effective Practices'.
