Kathmandu. The Government of Nepal has expressed sorrow over the deaths of climbers in an avalanche on July 30 (Saun 14) while ascending from Camp-2 to Camp-3 during the ascent of Broad Peak, the world's 12th highest mountain.
In a press release today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the tragic deaths of renowned climber Nirmal Purja "Nims Dai" along with Nepali climbers Purba Bahadur Gurung "Yukta", Kili Pemba Sherpa "Kilu", Nima Sherpa, Nawang Thindu Sherpa, Gyalu Sherpa, and the members of the international climbing team ascending Broad Peak with them, have caused irreparable damage to the mountaineering sector.
