Gandaki Province Government Faces Uncertainty Amid Shifting Alliances

Pokhara. With the decision to form a power-sharing alliance between UML and CPN at the center, the impact of government changes at the provincial level has also begun to be felt.

However, forming a government in Gandaki Province under a new equation is proving to be very difficult. Moreover, the number of lawmakers has become an obstacle even to continue the current government. The Nepali Congress, the largest party in the province, is currently leading the government. UML and CPN alliance needs 2 more seats to oust Chief Minister Surendraraj Pandey. UML, with 22 seats, and CPN, with 6 seats (excluding the Speaker), need the support of at least RPP to form a new government. However, RPP has not yet clarified its stance.
