Far-Western Province Faces Budget Holiday Amidst Political Uncertainty

The Far-Western Province is in a state of budget holiday. The budget for the current fiscal year has not been passed by the Provincial Assembly.

On the other hand, although a new government is said to be formed in the alliance between the CPN (UML) and the Communist Party of Nepal, the process has not moved forward. Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah has already fallen into a minority, and constitutionally, he still has time to take a vote of confidence. However, the delay in forming a new government in a situation where the province is without a budget has further increased the uncertainty.
