Bagmati Province Government Formation Uncertain Amidst Coalition Ambiguity

Hetauda. Parties in the left alliance appear unclear about the formation of a new government in Bagmati Province. Amidst challenging arithmetic, leaders of the left alliance (CPN UML and Nepali Communist Party) themselves do not seem clear about forming a new government.

Although a tug-of-war for the formation of a new government was evident from the left alliance in the all-party meeting called by Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya on Monday, UML and NCP have not yet shown clear grounds. With the change in the ruling coalition, the left parties appear to be in a 'wait and see' mode as the arithmetic for forming a new government in Bagmati is not adding up.
